As a senior managing director of AmbroseAdvisors™, Michael counsels business owners of closely held businesses with liquidity strategies and business succession planning. He specializes in employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and their many diverse applications. Michael is also a founding member of Holzman Horner PLLC, a proud affiliate member of AmbroseAdvisors™.
Prior to co-founding AmbroseAdvisors™, Michael was a member of the tax and employee benefits groups of an Am Law 200 law firm.
Michael received his juris doctor cum laude from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law where he served as the note and comment editor on the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy. He also received his masters of laws in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
Michael is a member of the Legislative and Regulatory Advisory Committee of The ESOP Association and of the National Center for Employee Ownership. Michael frequently lectures and writes on legal and financial issues affecting closely held businesses. In addition, Michael is a member of the American Bar Association, Commonwealth of Virginia Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar Association.
